A Magnificent and Highly Sophisticated German Mahogany Architect's Desk, in the school of Roentgen (David Roentgen (1743-1807);
having two galleried compartments each with three drawers beneath a hinged door flanking a central shelf with two drawers, the shaped writing surface inset with gilt tooled leather housing a double hinged accordian writing surface above a concave central frieze drawer with sliding leather surface flanked by two drawers above deeper hinged side drawers with interior compartments raised on tapering fluted legs ending in block feet, ornolu mounts throughout. Recessed slides on both ends. Finished on all four sides.
